About Kontra Studio

Who it is for

Kontra Studio is a portfolio-first theme for a branding, design or motion studio that wants the work to do the talking. It suits a small team that publishes a few case studies, lists its disciplines, and takes new business through a brief form. Careers and Journal pages sit in the set for studios that hire and write about their process; the sample Journal article is titled 'Why we still draw grids by hand'.

How the pages are laid out

The home page starts with a big statement, then a row of featured projects (Nordlicht Coffee, Haus Arnheim, Verso Typeface, Lumen Bank), four disciplines, a project index, client and award lines, and a four-step process: Listen, Define, Design, Deliver. Work is an index page with recent cases, and each case study gets a full story page. Studio, Services, Careers, a Journal and a 'Send us a brief' contact page complete the set.

Design notes

Swiss-style grid, as the name suggests: Inter Tight in tight, large sizes, JetBrains Mono for small labels and indexes, and a vivid red used sparingly against black and white. Everything snaps to a visible column structure, and images are cropped square-on instead of floated around.

Good to know

The Portfolio feature tag in the data matches the work index and case-study template here. It is an Elementor build, so project cards are rearranged in the editor. Each platform (WordPress, Shopify, Next.js) is a separate $9 purchase, made to order.
