About Silver Grain

Who it is for

A working photographer who shoots weddings, portraits and documentary stories can use Silver Grain as a studio site. It is written in the first person, so it suits a solo practice where the photographer is the brand and clients want to see sequences rather than single frames.

How the pages are laid out

Rather than a grid of thumbnails, the home page presents work as series: The Long Table, Faces of Alder Street and City of Glass, followed by a three-way split into Weddings, Portraits and Documentary & editorial. The Portfolio page is styled as a contact sheet. Each series opens its own page, for example The Long Table with a ceremony and a long lunch. About Mira, Services & pricing, a Client proofing page, Book a date (a date-check form) and a film-photography Journal post fill the rest.

Design notes

Understated and almost monochrome. Cormorant Garamond appears for large editorial headings, IBM Plex Mono labels captions and frame numbers like a darkroom proof sheet, and Inter carries ordinary text. Black is the accent, which leaves color entirely to the photographs.

Good to know

It is an Elementor build with the Portfolio feature and a Journal. WordPress, Shopify and Next.js are each a separate $9 purchase, all made to order. Images in the demo are samples; the theme does not include gallery proofing software.
