About Crumb & Co

Who it is for

An independent bakery or café that sells bread by the loaf and cakes by commission is the target. Crumb & Co handles the daily menu, pre-orders for celebration cakes, workshops and the story behind the ovens, so a small shop with a loyal local following can carry its whole offer on one site.

How the pages are laid out

From the top, the home page shows today's bakes (Country Sourdough, Butter Croissant, Fruit Tartlets, a Berry Celebration Cake), the bakers, a peek at the menu and a pre-order cake prompt, before the café space and a short regulars section. The Menu page groups breads, pastries and sweet bakes. Product pages list ingredients, how to store and 'You might also like', and a Custom Cakes page includes a build-your-cake order form with an allergens note. Baking Workshops and a Journal complete the set.

Design notes

Warm and handmade. Caveat Brush gives headings a hand-lettered feel, Work Sans keeps menu text easy to read, and a brick-red accent sits on a kraft-paper brown ground. Product photography is the main visual, framed generously instead of boxed in heavy borders.

Good to know

Gutenberg is the builder, so your own bakers can update menu items with WordPress blocks. WordPress, Shopify and Next.js are separate $9 purchases, and each is made to order. The menu is content, not an online shop, since no checkout is included.
