Each theme page lists the exact requirements for that theme. Use this page as a general checklist.
WordPress themes
- A self-hosted WordPress site (WordPress.org, not a WordPress.com plan that blocks custom themes). Use a current, supported WordPress version.
- A hosting plan with a current, supported PHP version. Ask your host if you are unsure.
- The Elementor plugin for themes built with Elementor. The theme page tells you whether the free version is enough or a feature needs Elementor Pro.
- Permission to install themes and plugins (an Administrator account).
- A recent backup of your site before you change anything.
Shopify themes
- A Shopify store with permission to manage themes (store owner or staff with theme access).
- Themes are built for Online Store 2.0.
Next.js themes
- Node.js and npm installed on your computer. The Next.js version in the package sets the minimum Node.js version; Next.js 15 needs Node.js 18.18 or newer.
- A host that can serve a Next.js or static site, such as Vercel or Netlify.
- A code editor and basic comfort with the command line.
Browsers
Themes target current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile.
