About Velo

Who it is for

Velo works for a bicycle brand or specialist shop selling road, gravel, city and electric bikes alongside helmets, wheels and clothing. It is written for a catalog where the main product is configured to the rider, and where a test ride or a chat with a person often comes before the sale.

How the pages are laid out

Within the home page, a short headline leads to a 'Pick your terrain' selector, a named model spotlight (Sterrato CX), a section for helmets, wheels and apparel and a 'Heard on the group ride' quote strip. The shop page, called 'All bikes & kit', has a filter panel and can be opened already narrowed to a discipline such as road. A 'Configure your bike' page is part of the set, and the contact page opens with 'Talk to a rider' for test-ride requests. Cart, search, About and a Journal post about a three-day Jura trip complete it.

Design notes

Fast and clean. Barlow Semi Condensed sets headlines in a narrow, sporty cut, Inter keeps specs plain, and a bright cobalt blue is the accent on mostly white pages. The layout leaves wide margins around bike photography, with spec tables kept compact.

Velo is a Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme, edited with Shopify's theme editor and with cart drawer, filtering and swatches in its feature list. Shopify is an Instant download; WordPress and Next.js are separate $9 purchases, made to order.
